Admission requirements

To be considered for the entrance exams, all of the following requirements must be met:

• Age requirement: You must be at least 19 years old by January 1th of the admission year. There is no upper age limit.
  
  
• General university admissions certification: You must have an average grade of 4.0 or higher from upper secondary school.
  
  All grades on the diploma count. Additional points, age points or similar bonus points are not included. Avinor follows the rules of the Norwegian Universities and Colleges Admission Service (Samordna opptak) for obtaining general study competence and calculating grade averages.
  
  
• The 23/6 rule: It is also possible to apply under the 23/6 rule.
  
  Avinor follows the rules of Samordna opptak for obtaining general study competence and calculating grade averages. The grade requirements are the same as for general study competence.
  
  
• Completed vocational certificate: Applicants may apply with a completed vocational- certificate or education and an average grade of 4.0 or higher from upper secondary school. All grades on the certificate of competence count.
  
  Applicants must document completion of VG1 and VG2, in addition to the vocational certificate. If the applicant completed three years of upper secondary education before apprenticeship training, grades from all three years will be included when calculating the average grade.
  
  
• Applicants with education from abroad will be assessed according to the criteria established by Samordna opptak. Applicants holding foreign qualifications must have passed a Norwegian CEFR language test at a minimum level of B2.
  
  
• Fluent spoken and written Norwegian: You must document Norwegian language proficiency from upper secondary school, with an average grade of at least 3.
  
  Applicants with foreign qualifications must have passed a Norwegian CEFR language test at a minimum level of B2.
  
  
• Good spoken and written English: You must document English language proficiency from upper secondary school, with a minimum grade of 3.
  
  Applicants with foreign qualifications will be assessed according to the criteria established by Samordna opptak.
  
  
• Security clearance: You must meet security clearance requirements, minimum level CONFIDENTIAL.
