Overall ratings

In 2018, Avinor was instructed by the Norwegian Environment Agency to conduct a comprehensive assessment of PFAS pollution at 39 of its airports.

The report consists of three parts

At the airports, a total of 59 locations were investigated for PFAS, and most of the surveys are related to active and closed-down fire training areas. 

Harstad/Narvik, Kristiansand, Oslo, and Svalbard are not included in the order as there are ongoing separate processes with the environmental authorities regarding these.

The results show that at 10 locations there are such low concentrations and/or amounts in the soil that measures are not considered.
