The Transparency Act

Our Work with the Transparency Act
Avinor manages significant assets on behalf of society, and its public mission must be carried out with consideration for humans, animals, society, and the environment. Therefore, Avinor sets strict standards for ethics, social responsibility, and responsible business conduct. Avinor actively works to ensure that we respect fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in our own operations and our supply chain.
Governance and Compliance
For several years, Avinor has worked on responsible business conduct and has systematically worked since 2022 to better meet the requirements of the Act on Company Transparency and the work with fundamental human rights and decent working conditions (Transparency Act), as well as the OECD framework. Avinor has an extensive management system with procedural descriptions for all functions within the corporate group. The work with due diligence assessments is incorporated into the company's internal management system to ensure the implementation of due diligence assessments in all relevant functions within the corporate group.

Membership and collaboration
Through membership in Ethical Trade Norway, Global Compact Norway, and Transparency International Norway, we commit to working towards sustainable business practices that respect people, society, and the environment. We participate in relevant industry networks for our operations and collaborate with other businesses on challenges in sectors or related to specific products.
Avinor participates in the Sustainability 17 network organized by Ethical Trade Norway. Here, we collaborate on due diligence and challenges within the construction industry. In 2023, focus areas have included best practices for managing risks related to solar panels and how we, as an industry network, can contribute to more transparency and better practices.
Responsible Supply Chain
Avinor is subject to the regulations for public procurement. Through this regulation, we are obligated to have appropriate procedures to promote respect for fundamental human rights in public procurement where there is a risk of violations of such rights. At Avinor, we set high standards for our suppliers and business partners.we wish to contribute to developing and influencing our suppliers in a positive direction through market and supplier dialogue in addition to general contract follow-up.
In our commercial operations, we are also concerned with setting clear requirements for our business partners (tenants) regarding our expectations for sustainability and social responsibility.
Suppliers and business partners who wish to participate in competition for a contract with Avinor must, among other things, commit to adhering to our principles of responsible business conduct. We require that international human rights are respected and that our contracting parties do not contribute to violations of these. All our suppliers and business partners must sign our code of conduct for suppliers.
Challenges with labor rights and human rights are large and complex within many value chains. We believe, nevertheless, that work with setting and following up on requirements will, over time, contribute to decent working conditions throughout the value chain.
Seriousness in construction and civil engineering
One of Avinor's largest procurement areas is construction and civil engineering, and we are therefore particularly concerned with helping to ensure seriousness in this sector.
