Avinor values its employees as its most important resource and actively works for an inclusive work environment characterized by equality and diversity. We shall be a workplace that promotes equality across gender, ethnicity, and age, and that strengthens integration and diversity, as varied expertise and backgrounds enrich the work environment. We ensure equal opportunities regardless of gender, pregnancy, leave, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and more.
The goal is an open, innovative work environment that attracts and develops skilled employees so that Avinor can deliver good services to all customers regardless of background.
What is meant by diversity?
Diversity means human differences, both large and small. Avinor wants employees to reflect society, customers, and partners in order to better solve challenges, increase innovation, and create positive experiences.
How can we succeed?
Diversity is a continuous, long-term process where everyone contributes. It is about respect for different opinions, appearances, and expressions. Avinor facilitates both physically and organizationally and has leaders who set an example as good role models. Awareness among leaders and visibility from the top is important.
What does Avinor do to increase diversity?
The proportion of women is low (21.9% women vs. 78.1% men). Avinor aims to balance this and believes good ideas and leadership qualities are not gender-specific.
Equal pay and equal opportunities
Avinor surveys equal pay every other year and makes corrections if differences are found. We have implemented several measures to give everyone equal opportunities, regardless of gender and background.

In 2022, a diversity and equality policy applicable to the entire Avinor was established. Since then, it has been further developed. The result is Avinor's five diversity promises, which have been approved by the corporate management.

Diversity in gender, age, competence, cultural background, experience, functional ability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and beliefs gives us more and better perspectives. At Avinor, there should be room for everyone, says Mari Hermansen, Executive Vice President of Organization and Corporate Support.
These are Avinor's five diversity promises
- We shall be known for valuing human differences, big and small, as a strength for Avinor.
- Everyone shall have equal opportunities at Avinor, and we have zero tolerance for discrimination and unequal treatment at all levels.
- All employees shall contribute to an inclusive work environment that supports our values: open, responsible, action-oriented, and customer-focused.
- All leaders shall actively encourage, facilitate, and be role models for diversity. We shall dare to give all employees trust and opportunities to succeed. Through this, we make a difference for our employees and the society of which we are a part.
- Avinor shall have employees across multiple generations with varying competence and backgrounds. The knowledge and experience of our most experienced employees shall be valued, along with the mindset and perspectives of new and young employees.
