Underwriting service

Avinor provides air traffic control services for Norwegian airspace and large parts of the North Atlantic. The service is delivered by about 350 employees at Avinor’s control rooms in Stavanger, Røyken, and Bodø.

Our main customers are Norwegian and international airlines, the Armed Forces, and the airports for which we provide approach control services.

Safe and Stable Service – at a Good Price

Avinor is committed to providing a safe and efficient service, ensuring that airlines receive a good service at the best possible price. Compared to our neighboring countries, the service Avinor delivers is very competitive.

The unit prices, used to calculate the fees that airlines pay, are simply a result of the cost level for en route services, distributed over the number of flights. In Norway, the growth has been significant in recent years without a corresponding increase in costs. Thus, the prices, regulated by the EU, are kept at a low level.

    Price Level in Different Countries

The map provides an overview of the unit prices for 2024 for flying in the airspace of Norway (€47.24), Sweden (€74.55), Finland (€57.13), Denmark (€67.145), United Kingdom (€87.29), Ireland (€28.78), Netherlands (€95.15), Germany (€80.14), Poland (€54.38), Lithuania (€63.06), Latvia (€44.42), and Belgium-Luxembourg (€112.08) (Image: Eurocontrol).

    Significant International Cooperation

Cooperation across borders is important to provide airlines with the best possible service. Avinor works closely with several air traffic management actors and is part of the NEFAB cooperation, which has established a common airspace block for Norway, Finland, Latvia, and Estonia.
