Brief about Avinor

Avinor has approximately 3100 employees who together operate 43 airports in Norway – and ensure that more than 51 million passengers get safely into the air and back down again.

Most Norwegians, and those who visit Norway, do not think much about Avinor, but almost all use Avinor's services during air travel – and thanks to these, we can maintain a large network of less profitable airports through duty-free sales, parking, and fees for staying in Norwegian airspace. We call this the Avinor model – and it helps ensure that people living in remote areas also have convenient access to jobs, hospitals, education, etc., thanks to funding from the larger airports.

Avinor is an important piece in making aviation greener and sustainable in the long run. We work closely with environmental organizations and are central to the development of sustainable aviation fuel and electric aircraft. This is crucial for our survival and is a fantastically exciting area that involves innovation and collaboration with many exciting partners. We aim to be fossil-free by 2030!
